Our annual Day of Prayer for the souls of all the faithful departed.
Indulgences for the Faithful Departed: on All Souls’ Day, we can help the faithful departed by our prayers. A plenary indulgence, applicable to the Holy Souls, is granted to those who visit any parish church or public oratory on 2nd November and there recite the Our Father and the Creed once. Every day from 1st to 8th November inclusive, a plenary indulgence, again applicable to the Holy Souls, is granted to those who visit a cemetery and pray for the departed. It would be lovely if even you go there and simply pray: “Eternal rest grant unto them O Lord and let perpetual light shine upon them and may they rest in peace. May their souls and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God rest in peace. Amen.”
