Epiphany of the Lord

Wednesday 6th January is the Feast of the Epiphany of the Lord. We celebrate the visit of the Magi to the child Jesus in Bethlehem. With their visit and in presenting their gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh they acknowledge Jesus as their Lord and Saviour. The Magi are representative of the Gentile people, all those not belonging to the Jewish faith, and as such are seen as recognising Jesus as the Saviour of all humanity.
