“The generosity of people through prayer and financial contributions in the well-known ‘Trócaire Box’ and other means has helped hundreds of thousands of people over the years and continues to do so.
This year our focus is on the people of Rwanda. Rwanda is a country that has experienced a great deal of trauma in recent decades, many have found themselves in the ‘wilderness.’ Through local partners in Rwanda, Trócaire supports and encourages communities to open new possibilities for them. Families receive training in sustainable farming, access to fuel-efficient cookstoves, and opportunities, especially for women, to take part in decisions that affect their lives. Last year alone, thanks to the generosity of Irish people, Trócaire worked with over 40,000 people across Rwanda to help families adapt to the changing climate situation.”

Trócaire Boxes are available at the back of the Church. Even if not filling one with your loose change this year, take one home as a visual reminder of our Lenten duty to help the poor.
